Pine Mountain Trail
Walk the Trail Where Beauty and History Meet
A 23-mile footpath that winds through FDR State Park, the Pine Mountain Trail is a great way to see some of Harris County's most beautiful scenery.
Sparkling streams, misty waterfalls, and scenic overlooks await you as you hike through the varied forest. Open year-round, the trail provides beautiful wildflowers in the spring, lush greenery in the summer, bright leaves every fall, and clear views of distant ridges in the winter.
In addition to the main trail, there are also seven shorter loops formed by connecting trails. Enjoy the scenery and take in some historic locations as you explore each path.
The Pine Mountain Trail is within FDR State Park and requires a daily use fee for parking anywhere within the park. Annual Georgia Park Passes are good at all state parks such as FDR. Contact the FDR park office for all fee/permit rates and other information by calling 706-663-4858. Parking Permits are available throughout the park at Self Pay boxes.
